About Us
Papillon Harmonicas is:
- Viola Barends: chromatic harmonica, chords-harmonica, blues-harmonica, vocals
- René van Deutekom: chromatic harmonica, chords-harmonica, blues-harmonica
- Rianne van de Griendt: bass-harmonica, vineta (bass-chords-harmonica)
History:
Papillon Harmonicas started in 2014. Viola, René and Rianne are members of the harmonica orchestra of the music association 'Helmondse Mondharmonica Vereniging'. And during harmonica meetups and events we performed sometimes also as trio. That was so much fun, that we decided to start trio rehearsals. Now that we have a varied repertoire, we enjoy performing our music for a wider audience, for harmonica demonstration and promotion.
The name Papillon (butterfly) is symbol for a colorful repertoire with diverse music genres.
